Basic idea behind V2V (Vehicle to Vehicle) is exchange of information between vehicles to achieve common goal of public safety (on road) and efficient traffic.

ETSI formulated ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) specifications to standardise the requirements and protocols.

3GPP enhanced Sidelink (concept introduced under "Proximity Services") to support V2V communication in unlicenced spectrum (LTE Band 47, 5.9 GHz). This is popularly known as Cellular V2X or simply, CV2X.

Autonomous selection
