LTE - missing articles

LTE - missing articles [Under LTE]

Next step in our LTE study is "basic PHY structure in UL", but due to certain reasons, I am jumping few steps ahead. Sometime in future, I would fill up these steps and make things right.

LTE air interface protocol structure and principles remain almost same as UMTS ones. We have RRC/PDCP/RLC/MAC in control plane (yes, PDCP is in control plane too) and PDCP/RLC/MAC in user plane. Their functions, interfaces are almost the same (check out UMTS articles (Radio access layers briefly and Insight into Uu access stratum). You may check UMTS articles - following these two articles - on Channel mapping, RRC states, etc. as well; similar principles are followed for LTE too.

Coming back to the point, "where are we jumping to ?", we will step ahead to the end-to-end initial UE attach procedure.
